“Hooray,” cries the blackbird, “for the voices of the few
Mean more than the voices of the many!”
Staring at a mighty glass door is this noble creature keeping a close watch for the rich,
And out those prosperous men come heads staring down for they have now become poor.
Walking in a straight line, many news stands they pass,
Which bear headlines shouting “Stock Market Crashes” or “Economy in Shambles,”
With the occasional National Enquirer reading “Aliens Say the Earth Fails.”
Leaving its perch, the blackbird flies, wishing so much for the men to hasten.
The line of men turns at the same point, into the subway they descend.
That blackbird follows close behind sensing a threat.
As the train speeds through, into the air the businessmen ascend,
Leaving that wretched bird laughing, because those rich have chosen death for safety.”
“Hooray,” cries the blackbird, “Hooray!”
